  • South Carolina EMS for Children Advocacy Committee

    The South Carolina EMS for Children (SC EMSC) program, housed under the DPH and HRSA, aims to integrate specialized pediatric care into state EMS and hospital systems. Guided by a committee of experts, its purpose is to ensure high-quality emergency medical care for children through education, advocacy, and improving pediatric readiness across EMS in the state of South Carolina.

  • South Carolina Birth Outcomes Initiative

    The SC Birth Outcomes Initiative (SC BOI) is a wide-ranging collaborative that convenes SCHA, SC Department of Health & Human Services (SC DHHS), SC Department of Health and Environmental Control (SC DHEC), all 45 South Carolina birthing hospitals, BlueCross BlueShield of SC, SC American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, SC March of Dimes, SC Neonatology Consortium, and SC OBGYN Society to address issues related to maternal and neonatal health.

  • South Carolina Infant Care Workgroup

    The Infant Care workgroup discusses a wide range of issues that impact SC infants within our birth facilities.  Participants share their processes and ideas, from customary to innovative care, in order to promote positive change.  

    Current areas of focus:

    Breastfeeding and lactation.

    Standards of care for infants.

    Common problems in infant care.

    Innovations in infant care.

  • South Carolina Transformation of Maternal Health Steering Committee

    The TMaH Planning and Steering Committee provides strategic oversight, guidance, and coordination for all TMaH initiatives. The committee ensures alignment with organizational goals, fosters collaboration across stakeholders, and addresses systemic barriers impacting maternal health outcomes. Committee members serve as a consultative body that guides implementation and sustainability of TMaH initiatives, ensuring alignment with CMS objectives and improving maternal health outcomes.

    Objectives:

    Offer consultative support and subject matter expertise to inform TMaH strategies and learning collaborative sessions.

    Promote collaboration among state agencies, organizations, community partners, and other stakeholders.

    Provide insights on access, infrastructure, workforce development, quality improvement, patient safety, and whole-person care.

    Recommend evidence-based approaches and innovative solutions to enhance maternal health outcomes.
